AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL,
ACCEPTANCE, AND APPROPRIATION OF A GRANT FROM THE
UNITED WAY OF WHITEWATER VALLEY
WHEREAS, The United Way of Whitewater Valley has grant funding available in the
amount of Five Thousand Five Hundred Dollars and No Cents ($5,500.00); and
WHEREAS, The City of Richmond Parks & Recreation Department desires to submit a
grant application to obtain funds that will be used by the Widowed Persons
Service operated by the Richmond Parks and Recreation Department; for a total
project amount of Twenty -One Thousand Eighty -Three Dollars and No Cents
($21,083.00); and
WHEREAS, A total local match Fifteen Thousand Five Hundred Eighty-three Dollars and
Zero Cents ($15,583.00) is required, of which Seven Thousand Six Hundred
Dollars and Zero Cents ($7,600.00) shall be from the 2009 Budget of the
Richmond Parks and Recreation Department. The remainder of said local
match in the amount of Seven Thousand Nine Hundred Eighty-three Dollars
and Zero Cents ($7,983.00) will be met through fundraisers and donations.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of
Richmond, Indiana, as follows:
The City of Richmond Parks & Recreation Department is hereby authorized to
submit a grant application to the United Way of Whitewater Valley.
2. The City of Richmond Parks & Recreation Department is authorized to accept said
grant funding in an amount up to Five Thousand Five Hundred Dollars and Zero Cents
($5,500.00) from United Way of Whitewater Valley.
Said funds, if awarded to the City of Richmond Parks & Recreation Department,
shall be appropriated toward operating expenses related to Widowed Persons Service.
Passed and adopted this 3rd day of November 2008, by the Common Council of the
City of Richmond, Indiana.
