AWARD OF CONTRACT - LYNWOOD SENIOR CITIZEN CENTER FURNITURE PROJECT COMMENTS: The City of Lynwood sent out a Request for Bids for the procurement and installation of furniture at the Lynwood Senior Citizen Center Building. Intelligent Facility Furnishings, Inc. was the apparent lowest bidder and is being recommended for a contract award. RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends that the Lynwood Utility Authority adopt the attached resolution entitled, "A RESOLUTION OF THE LYNWOOD UTILITY AUTHORITY AWARDING A CONTRACT TO INTELLIGENT FACILITY FURNISHINGS, INC., IN THE AMOUNT OF $108,006.23 FOR THE LYNWOOD SENIOR CITIZEN CENTER BUILDING FURNITURE PROJECT, PROJECT NUMBER 05-5297; AND AUTHORIZING THE PRESIDENT TO EXECUTE THE AGREEMENT." The project was advertised on March 19, 2006, with fifteen (15) corporate furnishing dealers receiving project plans and specifications. Four (4) bids were received on April 4, 2006. The Sheridan Group, Inc. was disqualified due to an incomplete and inaccurate bid proposal. Therefore, Staff recommends awarding the project to Intelligent Facility Furnishings, Inc. in the amount of $108,006.23. Fiscal Impact: The funding for this project is included in the existing Senior Citizen Center Project account.
