ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
VILLAGE OF PLAINFIELD, ILLINOIS
2020 WATER TOWER CLEANING PROGRAM
1. Time and Place of Opening Proposals. Proposals for the 2020 Water Tower Cleaning
Program, Village of Plainfield, Will County, Illinois, will be received until 10:00 A.M. on July 28,
2020 by email only. All proposals shall be emailed to Arlan Schattke, Engineer, at
aschattke@goplainfield.com prior to 10:00 A.M. on July 28, 2020 to be considered a valid
proposal. Please include “Plainfield 2020 Water Tower Cleaning” in the subject line of the
emailed proposal submittal.
2. Description of Work. An approximate statement of work to be completed as follows:
Clean water towers by soaking, power washing, and rinsing with a mold and mildew
inhibitor. All work is within the Village Limits of Plainfield, Illinois.
3. Information for Bidders. Copies of the Bidding Documents may be obtained, at no cost,
from the Village of Plainfield at Public Works 14400 S. Coil Plus Dr, Plainfield, IL 60544 or by
contacting Village of Plainfield (815) 436-3577 (contact Arlan Schattke
aschattke@goplainfield.com or Dan Biermann) for information.
To be considered for the bid a Contractor must have a minimum of three (3) years
previous municipal water tower washing experience.
The Village of Plainfield is exempt from the Illinois State, municipal or county Retailers
Occupation Tax, Service Occupation Tax, Use Tax, and Service Use Tax as described in Illinois
Compiled Statute Chapter 35. Bid prices shall not include the cost of such taxes.
Following contract award by the Plainfield Village Board, a Performance Bond will be
required from the selected contractor(s) in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total cost of
the proposal.
4. Rejection of Proposals. The Board of Trustees reserves the right to reject any or all
Proposals and to waive technicalities. Unless the Proposals are rejected for good cause, award
of contract shall be made to the lowest responsible and responsive Bidder.
