Additionally, all Planning Commission meetings are tape-recorded and are available to the public for listening at the Town Center Offices from 8:30am — 2:00 pm, Monday through Friday, by contacting the Planning Office at 970/827-5645 302 Pine St. Minturn, CO 81645. Regular Session — 6:30 pm 1. Call to Order Chair L. Teach called the meeting to order at 6:30pm • Roll Call Those present: Chair Lynn Teach, Jeff Armistead, Greg Gastineau, Greg Sparhawk, Lauren Dickie and Burke Harrington. 0 Pledge of Allegiance 2. Approval of Agenda ® Items to be Pulled or Added Motion by Greg S., second by Jeff A. to approve the agenda as presented. Motion passed 5-0. 3. Approval of Minutes • January 24, 2018 Motion by Jeff A., second by Burke H. to approve the minutes of January 24, 2018 as presented. Motion passed 5-0. 4._ Public comments on items, which are NOT on the agenda (5 -minute time limit per person) None 5. Planning Commission Comments None 6. Planning Director Report Janet H. stated that Eagle County will start the School Construction, they will begin to tear down the old Community Fund building in March -April. Moreover, they will bring trailers in the Maloit Park area, to house students from Red Sandstone Elementary School, for this fall 2018. 7. Sign Application: Sunrise Doug Mcavity, Sticky fingers Cafe, presented the new sign "Sunrise" to commission members. He explained it will be made of wood material, rectangular shape of 4 feet x 3 feet, in black and white colors. The sign is not internally lit, it's fixed not swinging, and meets the appropriate size and code requirements. Mr. Mcavity said he will paint the building black, purple and another color not decided yet. Jeff A. suggested to have Safe Built, safety inspectors in town, to confirm the stability and safety of Motion by Greg G., second by Burke H. to approve the sign permit application as submitted by Sunrise, 132 Main St. with the condition that the applicant submit a building permit with plans on how the sign is to be hung and it is approved by the town building inspector, for the security and wellbeing of pedestrians. Motion passed 5-0. 8. Sign Application: Thai Restaurant Janet H. exhibited the Thai Restaurant sign located at 141 Main St., which is a 2 sided flat painted round shape sign. The materials and size meet the requirements. Colors are red and white. Motion by Greg G. second by Jeff A. to approve the sign permit application of the Thai Restaurant as presented. Motion passed 5-0. 9. Sign Application: Anglers Janet H. showed the proposed signs for the Minturn Anglers at 106 North Main St. One sign has the shape of a fish, 7 feet x 2 feet, made of plywood and painted in red, blue, white and yellow. Motion by Greg G. second by Greg S. to approve the Minturn Anglers sign application, for the 2 signs presented: Colorado fish sign and the Fly shop sign in black and white. Motion passed 5-0. 10. Chapter 16 Code Revision — New sign code review — approval to include in re -write Lynn had questions about items in 44 16-18-20 Corrections were made to lexical definitions in 42A Janet H. & Planning Commission made various modifications to the proposed sign code to add to the Chapter 16 revision. Janet H to bring Planning Commission the next draft. 11. Next Meeting — February 28, 2018 12. Adjournment. Motion by Greg G., second by Burke H. to adjourn the meeting at 8:05 pm. Motion passed 5-0. Work Session Note: Work session began at 8:1Opm 13. The RAT application is due on March 2, 2018. 14.
