Ten persons attended as follows: BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT (7) STAFF PRESENT (3) Mr. Rick Derks (Chair) Ms. Sarah Trittler, Recruiting & Workman’s Comp Specialist Mr. Bill Burton (Vice Chair) Lt. Jeff Stiefermann Ms. Lisa Turner (Secretary) Chief Roger Schroeder Mr. Ray Bledsoe Rob Trowbridge Wesley Dickman Ms. Kelly Dillon Following greetings, roll call was taken. Approval of May 7, 2015 minutes It was moved by Derks and seconded by Dillon that the minutes for the May 7th meeting be approved. The motion was carried unanimously. Hiring Update Lt. Stiefermann announced that Chief Schroeder is finishing up oral interviews today (June 4, 2015) for the four Police Officer positions and one Communications Officer position. Chief Schroeder commented that conditional employment offers will be made soon. Chief Schroeder announced the new veterinarian started today, June 4th, 2015. Lt. Stiefermann led a discussion regarding new ideas for recruiting a larger amount of individuals and minorities. Lt. Stiefermann will be attending a class offered about recruitment of police personnel in an effort to offer new ideas for increasing the amount of individuals and minorities applying for open positions within the department. JCPD Appreciation Luncheon Ms. Dillon gave an overview of this event for the newer people on the Board. The Luncheon is scheduled for Wednesday, September 30th from 11-1:30pm. More will be discussed at the next Police Personnel Board meeting in August. Next Meeting Date- the next meeting is August 6th, 2015. It was moved by Derks and seconded by Ms. Turner for adjournment.
