Meeting of Cemetery Resource Board
Thursday,June 18,2015

The Cemetery Resource Board met on Thursday,June 18, 2015 at 10:30 a.m.at the Woodland/Old City
Cemetery, 1000 E. McCarty Street,Jefferson City, Missouri.
Steven Wells called the meeting to order. A quorum was present.
Approval of Minutes:
A motion was made for approval of the minutes from the April 14, 2015 meeting by Michael Shellman,
Nancy Thompson seconded it. Minutes were approved.
Old Business:
Cemetery work days were discussed among staff and members. Nancy would like to have another work
day on Saturday,June 27,2015. Volunteers are needed to help move heavy stones. David Grellner
mentioned the Clark Mausoleum is currently being restored.
Election of Officers for Current Year:
It was decided to wait on electing officers for the current year until all members were present.
New Business:
The Cemetery Board discussed adding veteran markers for General James Minor and the Basye stone
grave spaces. Mark Schreiber will look into it. Also discussion occurred about placing a stone for Carrie
Crittenden. David Grellner requested that an inscription be created and the size of stone be decided on
by the Cemetery Resource Board. Board members mentioned making the stone look old-fashioned.
Discussion occurred about the grave stones located by the lower rock pile that did not have permanent
places in the cemetery. Nancy Thompson stated that two of the tombstones are from Bellefontaine
Cemetery(Corrigan and Nobbe)and Lucy Krieger is buried at Riverview Cemetery. Board agreed to
move the damaged pieces along the wall to the correct location when located. Discussion also occurred

about removing the stone pile. Steve Wells made a motion to remove the stone pile, Nancy Thompson
seconded. Motion was approved.
The Board reviewed the washed out area in the lower section of the Cemetery and also looked at the
large maple tree that is dying. Discussion also occurred about numerous individuals in the cemetery.
The progress on the Clark Mausoleum was looked at by the Cemetery Board and staff. Nancy showed
the many grave stones she has reset in the Woodland/Old City Cemetery.
The Cemetery Board and staff examined the"Gone But Not Forgotten Monument" and decided to keep
the inscription stone in good repair by moving it closer to the monument stone. Michael Shellman made
a motion to move the inscription stone and was seconded by Nancy Thompson. Motion passed.This will
keep the stone from inadvertent damage from maintenance equipment.
Other Topics and Issues:
The next Cemetery Resource Board meeting was set for Thursday,August 20, 2015 at 10:00 a.m.
