Leesburg Parks & Recreation Hosts “Spooktacular” Family
Events in October
Leesburg, VA (October 6, 2010) – Join us at Ida Lee Recreation Center for a month of haunted
happenings! We have something for every age group to celebrate the season, including magic,
crafts, and a ‘rocktober’ concert with Uncle Pete. So come in costume and get ready for a
month of spooky fun at Ida Lee!
Family Night of Mystery and Magic on October 9, 2010 at 6:30pm
Mark your calendar for a night of family fun, music, and magic at Ida Lee Park Recreation Center
with special guests SPEED and THRO, premiere magicians. Speed is the hyperactive, fast-
talking, slick magician, while Thro is the bumbling, not so bright, comedy sidekick. Combined,
the two form a fun, exciting, and mystifying illusionist team. Be sure to bring the whole gang as
this high energy dynamic duo blends intense stage magic with zany comedy antics that will thrill
both kids and parents alike. Complimentary popcorn will be available at this event. Pre-
registration is recommended as seating is limited.
Monster Bash! on October 22, 2010 at 7:00pm
It is that time of year when the spooks are out, so bring your ghost or goblin to Ida Lee’s
Halloween Party! We will have games, pumpkin decorating, crafts, snacks, dancing, and a
“Special Performance” as the grand finale! Be sure to wear your costume for our “costume
parade” and register early, as space is limited. This event is open to children up to 6 years of
age with parent or guardian. Monster Bash will last about 75 minutes.
