HomeMy Public PortalAbout11-26-2008THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, NOVEMBER 26, 2008 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met at 5:00 P.M., Thursday, November 26, 2008, in the Community Room at the Municipal Building, 50 North 5th Street, Richmond, Indiana. In attendance were Board Members Vicki Robinson, Dian Lawson and Mary Jo Flood. Also attending were Rob Leavitt, Fire Department, Dog Goss, Information and Technology, Kim Vessels, Assistant City Attorney, and Greg Stiens, City Engineer. The following business was conducted: CALL TO ORDER: Board President Vicki Robinson called the meeting to order and noted for the minutes that all board members and legal counsel were present. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Board member Lawson moved to approve the minutes of November 19, 2008 as presented, supported by Board member Flood. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion passed. CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT: Board member Flood moved to approve Claims for Payment in the amount of $122,094.93 which includes $23,485.53 (Morton Salt); $28,893.00 (Delucio & Sons for North 3rd & North "E" Street Sanitary Sewer Project); and $43,473.90 (3rd quarter payment to WCTV). The motion was supported by Board member Lawson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion passed. REQUESTS: None BID OPENINGS: A. GASOLINE AND FUELS FOR 2009: The following bids were received: 1) Harvest Land Co -op a. Premium Unleaded Gasoline 1. Transport — $1.232 a gallon 2. Tankwagon - $1.322 a gallon 3. Pump Price - $1.291 a gallon b. Regular Unleaded (87 Octane) 1. Transport - $1.042 a gallon 2. Trankwagon - $1.132 a gallon 3. Pump Price - $1.101 a gallon c. Premium Road Diesel 1. Transport - $1.835 a gallon 2. Tankwagon - $1.952 a gallon 3. Pump Price - $1.935 a gallon d. Off Road Diesel (Dyed) 1. Transport - $1.835 a gallon 2. Tankwagon - $1.943 a gallon 3. Transport - $1.8729 a gallon 3) Speedway didn't submit a proposal sheet therefore it was not a responsive bid. The bids were referred to the Purchasing Department for tabulation, evaluation, and recommendation. BID AWARDS: A. PAVED SIDE DITCH PROJECT — 4151 Industries Road: Board member Lawson moved to award this bid to Bowlin Construction in the amount of $21,496.00 as recommended by Mr. Stiens, supported by Board member Flood. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion passed. B. FIRE TRUCK: Board member Flood moved to award this bid to Crimson Fire (Towers Fire Apparatus) in the amount of $395,394.00, supported by Board member Lawson. CONTRACT NO. 130 -2008 - SIDEWALK AND CURB REHAB — South B Street and North 6th Street: Board member Lawson moved to approve Contract No. 130 -2008 as presented, supported by Board member Flood. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion passed. B. CONTRACT NO. 131 -2008 — FIBER OPTIC — between Richmond Power & Light, Roseview Transit, Senior Center and the Richmond Sanitary District: Board member Flood moved to approve Contract No. 131 -2008 as presented, supported by Board member Lawson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion passed.* ADDENDUMS: A. None PETITIONS: A.
