REGULAR MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF MiEDINA
MAY 2 2,1961
Meeting called to order by Mayon Scott at $ PM.
All members of the council were present.
Minutes of Regular meeting of April 4,1961 were read. Motion by
Herb Arens to accept minutes as read, second by Arthur Gertz,
Motion carried.
Robert Scott suggested the council set a cut off time for discussion
at council meetings. Motion by Herbert Arens to cut off discussion
at meetings at 10: PM, Second by Harold Winterhalter, motion carried.
Mr/ Erdman presented several proposals far a recreation program
for the Lake independence area, Considerable discussion on the
various plans was held. Motion by Arthur Gertz to donate not
more than $100.00 to Lake Independence Beach Recreation Program
money to be used to transport children from Beach to Maple Plain
Second by Herb Arens, Motion carried. It was noted by maFo kocrx
residents of the Beach area that they would proceed to set up
a recreation program for that area this summer.
Heinzen Ditter Post # 5903, Veterans of Foriegn Wars building
permit was presented. A lengty discussion followed with comments
from several members of the audiance. Motion by Arthur Gertz
that permit be granted to Veterans of Foriegn Wars post # 5903
at proposed site of 24 and 88- Second by Robert Roehl: Vote on
the question was as follows, Arthur Gertz and Robert Roehl, yes, --
Harold Winterhalter, Herbert Arens and Robert Scott,No.M .r,o„
Motion by Herbert Arens to donate 425.00 to Hennepin County WU
Agricultural Society, Second by Robert Roehl, Motion carried.
Motion by Herbert Arens to grant Northwestern Bell Telephone
Company permission to lay an underground cable along corner of
County Road #24 and Holy Name Road, provided road by put back in
original shape, Second by Arthur Gertz, 'Motion carried.
Motion by Herbert Arens to ask Village Attorney and Village Engineer
attend May 22 planning commission meeting and hearing, Second
by Arthur Gertz, Motion carried.
Motion by Arthur Gertz to pay Attorney Hedlunds December bill,
Second by Harold Winterhalter, motion carried.
Motion by Harold Winterhalter to hold Meeting of Board of Review
at $ AM on June 22,1961, Second by Arthur Gertz, Motion carried.
Audit report was given by Herbert Perry of Essend and Bonhiver,
Accounting firm.
Motion byh Harold Winterhalter to have Mir. Berry consult the
village Attorney at May 22, meeting, Second by Herb Arens,
Motion carried.
Treasuers report. Previous Balance 411,716.05, Reciepts 79.23
Payroll checks issued $609.00, order checks issued 42,024.74.
present balance 49,161.54.
Motion by Harold Winterhalter to accept bills, second by Herb
Arens, Motion carried.
Motion by Harold Winterhalter to adjourn, second by Herb Areas,
Motion carried.
Meeting adjourned at 11:10 PM.
