Loudoun History Awards to Honor Local History Advocates
Leesburg’s Thomas Balch Library will host the awards ceremony on Sunday,
November 14, 2010 at 2:00 p.m.
Leesburg, VA (October 25, 2010) – The 18th annual Loudoun History Awards, sponsored by the
Thomas Balch Library Advisory Commission, will honor four individuals who have made long-
term contributions in local history and historic preservation. The awards ceremony will take
place on Sunday, November 14, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the lower level meeting room at the
Thomas Balch Library, located at 208 West Market Street in Leesburg.
This year’s honorees are:
H. Vernon Davis, for his many contributions to historic restoration and preservation in
Loudoun County.
Margaret T. Morton, for her advocacy of and work in historical research and writing.
Lori Kimball, for her many contributions to research and preservation of local history.
Arlean Hill, for her contributions to the preservation of Loudoun County’s African
American heritage resources.
These individuals have made significant contributions to preserving Loudoun’s past through the
collection of county documents and memorabilia, preservation of historic landmarks, visual
arts, writing, and long-time commitments to local history organizations.
