I. ROLL CALL
The meeting was called to order by President Barbara Green
at 1:15 P.M.
Members Present: Barbara Green, Edward Shelley, Nonette Hanko,
and Daniel Wendin. Katherine Duffy was present during the
field tour portion of the meeting.
Members Absent: Richard Bishop and Harry Turner.
Personnel Present: Herbert Grench, Steve Sessions, Del Woods,
and Cynthia DiGiovanni.
II. INTRODUCTIONS
B. Green introduced the following guests : Jay Mitchell,
Jean McCown-Hawkes, Fred Nichols, Pat Cullen, Mary Gordon,
Frances Brenner, Michael Cobb, and Robert Mark.
III. PRESENTATION OF MONTE BELLO OPEN SPACE PRESERVE PARKING LOT
PROPOSAL
A. Overview of District Acquisitions
H. Grench presented an overview of the District and the
status of the District's open space preserves and acquisition
program.
B. Review of Proposed Parking Lot Locations
S. Sessions introduced the Monte Bello development plan
and parking lot proposal.
D. Woods reviewed the Monte Bello action plan, and made a
slide presentation showing the various potential parking
lot locations, which included a review of evaluation and
criteria.

C. Written Communications
B. Green noted that the Board had received letters from
Mary Gordon, dated March 12, 1980, and from Gordon Jennings,
dated April 9, 1980, regarding their concerns about the
proposed parking facility.
IV. RECESS FOR TRAVEL TO MONTE BELLO OPEN SPACE PRESERVE
The Board recessed for travel to Monte Bello Open Space
Preserve at 2 :30 P.M.
V. SITE TOUR
The Board reconvened at Monte Bello Open Space Preserve
at 3:00 P.M.
S. Sessions conducted a site tour, identifying the ten
possible parking lot locations.
VI. ADJOURNMENT
The meeting adjourned at 4 :20 P.M.
