The City Attorney presented Resolution No. 64 -376 RESOLUTION
OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY AUTHORIZING THE ADVANCE OF FUNDS FOR THE
ACQUISITION OF CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY FOR PUBLIC PARKING PURPOSES IN
CONNECTION WITH FORMATION OF PARKING DISTRICT NO. 1 PURSUANT TO THE
PROVISIONS OF VEHICLE PARKING DISTRICT LAW OF 1943. The City Attorney
advised the Fortner Realty Co. has held on to this subject property
owned by C. Annette Young, for almost two years as the Parking Assn.
had an understanding about the property. The owners decided they
would no longer hold the property for the City. A determined effort
was necessary to hold this property for the City for the parking lot
and his office advanced a $100. deposit to hold this property until
June 3, thus giving the Council an opportunity to act. He advised
the City could take over the property with a reasonable down payment,
and so much a month which would be mostly be covered by rentals, the
full purchase price to be $68,500. which is felt to be an excellent
price, and if action is not taken at this time the price will be con-
siderably more. Mr. Clarke Ewing, appraiser, estimated well over
$70,000. Mr. Shatford advised the City could hold this until the
Parking District No. 1 is completed when the City would be completely
reimbursed. If this District did not materialize the City could dis-
pose of it at a much higher figure, so the City could not lose either
way.

ing how it could be placed on Las Tunas Dr. The City Manager's re-
commendation was that it be placed on a parking lot or alley. The
