C Streets and Alley between S. 15th and 16th Streetsr GENERAL ORDINANCE NO. 16-1983 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 154 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE, BEING ORDINANCE, NO. 2325-1968, CONMONLY 09NN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF 111E CITY OF RICHMOND, 1NDIANA, ADOPTED JUKE 3, 1968, PROVIDING FOR THE REZONING OF CERTAIN PROPERTY GENERALLY BOUNDED BY SOUTH " M STREET, SOUTH 16th AND 17th STREET, SOUTH "C" STREET AND THE ALLEY BETWEEN SOUTH 15th AND 16th STREETS FR(M R-3 ONE -TO -EIGHT FAMILY RESIDENCE DISTRICT TO R-2 SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENCE DISTRICT. WHEP.EA.S, the Zoning Map which is part of Ordinance No. 2325-1968 designates and describes as R-3 One -to -light Family Residence District, the property gene- rally bounded by South "A" Street, South 16th and 17th Streets, South "C" Street and the alley between South 1Sth and 16th Streets; and MIEREAS, the above referenced property is shown and designated on a map attached to this Ordinance and marked Exhibit "A" hereof and by reference made a part hereof; and, 11HEREAS, it is the intent and purpose hereof to change the zoning classification of said property from R-3 One -to -Eight Family Residence District to R-Z Sin- gle Family Residence District all as designated on the map marked Exhibit ,IN,; and, WHEREAS, a study of this Ordinance was conducted by the Richmond City Plan Commis- sion the 26th day of April , 1983, at which time remonstrances were heard from all parties interested in or affected by this Ordinance; and, WHEREAS, the vote of the Richmond City Plan Commission was 9 to 0 in favor of ixxojRp®si!tiaRxto recommending passage of Wince No. 16-1983. NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, as follows: SECTION 1. That the map, marked Exhibit "A" designating the area to be rezoned from R-3 One -to -Eight Family Residence District to R-2 Single Family Residence District is hereby made a part of Ordinance No. 16-1983. SECTION 2. That the zoning classification of the above described property be, and the same is hereby changed to R-2 Single Family Residence District as de- signated and described in Exhibit "A" hereof and that said property be regulated in accordance with the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Richmond, Indiana, and all amendments thereto. SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval as by law required. Twenty-five (25) notices of public hearing were sent to surrounding pro- perty owners with two (2) returned in favor of the granting of the peti- tion and none opposed to the petition. The Plan (bmznission wted nine (9) to zero (0) to recommend the passage of Ordinance No. 16-1983, and pursuant to I.C. 36-7-4-607 determined the following: 1. The predominate land use is single family dwelling. 2. The requested rezoning is a logical extension of the R-2 Single Family Residencial District adjacent to this area.
