PROCLAMATION "JUNE IS DAIRY MONTH"
WHEREAS, Los Angeles County is a major part of he
nation's largest dairy production center, and
WHEREAS, medical, dental, and health authorities stress
that milk is "nature's most nearly perfect food," and dairy pro-
ducts are a vital part of everyone's total health program re-
gardless of age, and
WHEREAS, the dairy industry contributes $160,000,000
each year to the basic economy of Southern California, and more
than 500 other major industries are directly deperdent upo:-, the
dairy dollar, and
WHEREAS, the men and women of the local dairy industry
represent a sizeable segment of our population,
NOW THEREFORE, do 1 as Mayor of the City of Temple City
proclaim the month of June, 1965, as "June Is Dairy Month" and
urge all local residents to avail themselves of the healthful
and nutritious benefits of dairy products which are available
locally at a lower average cost and at a wider variety than any-
where in the nation.
