Leesburg Board of Architectural Review to Hold Work Session
on Proposed Sign Ordinance Revisions
Leesburg, VA (October 28, 2010) – As a follow-up to the Town Council’s work session on
October 25, 2010, the Leesburg Board of Architectural Review (BAR) will review proposed
changes to the Sign Ordinance on November 3, 2010. The work session will be held in the
Council Chamber on the second floor of the Leesburg Town Hall and will begin at 7:00 p.m.
Particular topics that the BAR will discuss include:
• Neon signs, both in the Old and Historic District and outside downtown
• Window signs, including interior signs
• Flags, other than those with an “OPEN” message
• Sign guidelines for the H-2 Overlay District
• Downtown directional kiosks
After the work session with the BAR, staff will report any recommended changes to the Town
Council on November 8, 2010. A final public hearing on the Sign Ordinance amendments is
tentatively scheduled for the November 30, 2010 Town Council meeting.
