A RESOLUTION TO APPROVE THE PURCHASE OF THE PROPERTIES
AT 105 AND 111 COLLEGE STREET
WHEREAS, the City of Tiffin (City) desires to purchase two parcels of real estate in Johnson
County, located within the legal boundaries of the City of Tiffin from Tim and Cynthia Spivey
(Landowners) as legally described on Attached Exhibit "A".
WHEREAS, City desires parcels of real estate located at 105 and 111 College Street for the
purpose of City use in and near the area for the extension of the Ireland Avenue Extension Project.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, the City Council had offered a sum of $155,000 for the two
parcels of real estate to the Landowners with TIF Funds with the properties located in the Urban
Renewal District.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, THAT THE City Council of Tiffin, Iowa authorized the Mayor
and the City Clerk to execute and conduct all legal matters to facilitate the acquisition of the parcels of
real estate.
THEREFORE, the City Council had directed the City Attorney to facilitate the transactions
involved for the purchase of the real estate on August 26, 2011 and recorded all documents as
required by state and county requirements.
Council person Mark Petersen introduced for approval Resolution 2011-43 A RESOLUTION TO
APPROVE THE PURCHASE OF THE PROPERTIES AT 105 AND 111 COLLEGE STREET and
seconded by Council Person Chris Ball.

WHEREUPON Four Council members voted and approved Resolution 2011-43, Mayor Phillips
signifies the adoption by affixing his signature thereto.

1. Beginning 20 feet east and 180 feet north of the intersection of the north line of Railroad
Street in the Town of Tiffin, Iowa, and the center line section of Section 28, Township 80 North,
Range 7, West of the 5t" P.M., thence south 60 feet, thence east 183 feet, thence northerly 60
feet to a point 179 feet east of the point of beginning, thence west 179 feet to the point of
beginning.
Auditor's Parcel 95021 in SE1/4 of Section 80, Range 7, City of Tiffin, Iowa, on Plat of Survey
recorded on May 11, 1995, in Book 35, Page 146, Records of the Recorder of Johnson
County, Iowa.

Beginning at a point on the north line of Railroad Street in the town of tiffin, Iowa, 203 feet East
f the centerline of Section 28, Township 80 North, Range 7 West of the 5t" P.M.; thence North
120 feet, thence West 90 feet, thence South on a line parallel to said centerline of said Section
28, 120 feet to the north line of said Railroad Street, thence East 90 feet to the place of
beginning.
All subject to easements, agreements, and restrictions of record.
