HomeMy Public PortalAbout135.1 - Executive Offices - Chief Administrative Officer - Orlando Operations Center Organization and PolicyCity of Orlando Orlando Operations Center Section 135.1 135.1 SUBJECT: ORGANIZATION AND POLICY :1 OBJECTIVE: Provide the Orlando community with a reliable, efficient Public Safety communications and emergency operations system utilizing integrated technologies in a central, secured facility. This facility, known as the Orlando Operations Center, will further strive to become a regional resource. :2 AUTHORITY: The policy adopted by City Council July 23, 2001; re-formatted April 2004. :3 DIRECTION: Orlando Operations Center Governing Board :4 FUNCTIONS: The Orlando Operations Center will serve the community including citizens, businesses, visitors and other constituents, other agencies at the federal, state and regional levels, employees, other interested parties, and the media by: a) co-locating services; b) providing a centralized service for emergencies and non-emergencies; c) managing response to natural and man-made disasters; d) coordinating regional vehicular traffic; e) linking and fostering working relationships with other public and private entities, agencies; f) maintaining compliance with law enforcement accreditation standards; g) accommodating growth and expansion of services; and, h) seeking and incorporating new technologies to enhance public safety services in a cost-effective manner. :5 FORMS: None. :6 COMMITTEE RESPONSIBILITIES: Not applicable. :7 REFERENCE: City Council action approved July 23, 2001; re-formatted April 2004. :8 EFFECTIVE DATE: This procedure effective July 23, 2001 Policies and Procedures Manual Page 1
