HomeMy Public PortalAbout025-1983 - Amending Chapter 154 - Zoning - 96 and 98 West Main StreetGENERAL ORDINANCE NO. 25-1983 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 154 OF THE MLNICIPAL CODE, BEING ORDINANCE NO. 2325-1968, COMMONLY KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, PROVIDING FOR THE REZONING OF PROPERTY LOCATED AT 96 AND 98 WEST MAIN STREET FROM R-3 ONE -TO -EIGHT FAMILY RESIDENCE DISTRICT TO C-2 COMMERCIAL DISTRICT. WHEREAS, the Zoning Map which is part of Ordinance No. 2325-1968 designates and describes as R-3 One -to -Eight Family Residence District the property located at 96 and 98 West Main Street; and, WHEREAS, it is the intent and purpose hereof to change the zoning classification of said property from R-3 One -to -Eight Family Residence District to C-2 Commercial District; and, WHEREAS, a study of this Ordinance was conducted by the Richmond City Plan Com- mission the 24th day of May, 1983, at which time remonstrances were heard from all parties interested in or affected by this Ordinance; and, WHEREAS, the vote of the Richmond City Plan Commission was ten (10) to zero (0) in favor of recommending the passage of Ordinance No. 25-1983. NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, as follows: SECTION 1. That the zoning classification of the property described below be, and the same is hereby changed to C-2 Commercial District and that said property be regulated in accordance with the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Richmond, Indiana, and all amendments thereto. The following Lots numbered 1,2,3 and 4 in the 0. Kinsey Addition to the City of Richmond. SECTION 2. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval as by law required. Five (5) notices of public hearing were sent to surrounding property owners with two (2) returned in favor and none in opposition to the request. The Plan Commission voted ten (10) to zero (0) to recommend the passage of Ordinance No. 25-1983. (Mrs. Rodefeld vacated the Chair and abstained from voting.) Respectfully submitted, a Robert B.
