A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
AUTHORIZING AN ADDITIONAL $3,529 FUNDING FOR A TOTAL CONTRACT OF
$18,529 TO COMPLETE CONSULTING SERVICES TO DRAFT A COMPREHENSIVE
BILLBOARD ORDINANCE.
WHEREAS, the City Council intends to protect the public health, safety and
_ general welfare by regulating billboards to avoid visual blight, over proliferation, traffic
hazards and litigation; and
~; WHEREAS, the City Council authorized a contract with Richard Hamlin
Associates not to exceed $15,000 to draft a comprehensive billboard ordinance; and
WHEREAS, the consultant attending billboard committee meetings, interacting
with staff and attending public hearings has exceeded the scope of services; and
WHEREAS, the firm of Richard Hamlin Attorneys acted in good faith in diligently
pursuing City Council direction requests from staff and the billboard committee.
Section 1. The City Council of the City of Lynwood authorizes additional
funding not to exceed $3,529 from account number 12-5032 for a total contract of
$18,529.
Section 2. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon
its adoption.
