Police Personnel Board
Minutes-August 6, 2015
The meeting was called to order at 12:03pm.
Seven persons attended as follows:

Following greetings, roll call was taken.
Approval of June 4, 2015 minutes
It was moved by Ms. Dillon, and seconded by Ms. Turner that the minutes for the June 4th, 2015 meeting be approved.
The motion was carried unanimously.
Hiring Update
Chief Schroeder announced that conditional offers of employment have been made to five candidates. On July 6th, one
police officer started the field training program. Three others will be attending the academy starting on August 24,
2015. One communications officer started July 6th and is in training currently.
Chief Schroeder also announced that recently one police officer resigned, and will be leaving the department in October,
2015. There were two individuals on the eligible list to fill this position. Chief Schroeder announced that another
communications officer position has become available as well, and that there was one individual on the eligible list for
this position. The department is proceeding with this candidate to fill the position of communications officer.
Since there are no vacancies currently, Chief Schroeder suggested that the next testing process be postponed at this
time. This will be discussed again at the next board meeting.
JCPD Appreciation Luncheon
Due to the absence of Lt. Jeff Stiefermann, the tentative date of September 30th, 2015, could not be confirmed. This will
be discussed at the next board meeting. In addition, Mr. Derks, the chair of this event was also absent. The board
decided to wait to hear from Mr. Derks on details of this function at the next board meeting before making further
plans.
Next Meeting Date - the next meeting is September 10th, 2015.
It was moved by Mr. Bledsoe and seconded by Ms. Dillon for adjournment. The meeting was adjourned at 12:28p.m.
