A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
APPROVING THE EXTENSION OF CONSULTANT SERVICES
AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF LYNWOOD AND RBF
CONSULTING UNTIL MARCH 31, 2007 TO COMPLETE THE UPDATE
OF THE LYNWOOD HOUSING ELEMENT AND AUTHORIZE THE
MAYOR TO EXECUTE THE AGREEMENT.
WHEREAS, the Lynwood City Council approved a consultant services
agreement between the City of Lynwood and RBF Consulting to update the Lynwood
Housing Element on November 1, 2005; and
WHEREAS, State Law requires local government to adopt a General Plan
consisting of seven (7) mandatory elements including a Housing Element; and
WHEREAS, the last Housing Element Update was adopted by the City Council
on May 15, 2001; and
WHEREAS, the updated Housing Element is required to comply with
amendments to State Law and provide a current inventory of existing houses and
projected housing needs for the City. of Lynwood; and
WHEREAS, updating the Lynwood Housing Element may have impacts on the
environment, therefore, an Initial Study will be prepared in accordance with-the
California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) guidelines. It is anticipated that a
Mitigated .Negative Declaration will be prepared.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council of the City of Lynwood approves the
extension of the consulting services agreement between the City of Lynwood and RBF
Consulting until March 1, 2007 to complete the Update to the Lynwood Housing
Element.
Section 2. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon
its adoption.
PASSED, APPROVED, and ADOPTED this 21St day of November, 2006.
