PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS: The City Council of the City of Temple City
recognizes the need for a Community Center in the City in order
to house the various activities, meetings and entertainments for
the clubs, organizations, and citizenry of the City; also for
the youth activities of the area that need housing and attention,
and
WHEREAS: The Temple City Youth Center, Inc., a non-
profit organization of the City of Temple City dedicated towards
the furthering of youth activity in the City of Temple City is
sponsoring the 1st Annual Community Fair to run for four days
beginning August 5, 1965 for the stated purpose of creating a
special building fund from the profits of said Community Fair
which will go towards the eventual erection of a Community Center
in the city;
NOW, THEREFORE do I, William A. Harker, Mayor of the
City of Temple City, proclaim the week beginning August 1, 1965
be known as COMMUNITY CENTER WEEK in Temple City, and urge all
citizens end organizations of the City to cooperate in making
the 1st ANNUAL COMMUNITY FAIR in Temple City a most successful
venture.
