HomeMy Public PortalAboutResolution 65-514RESOLUTION NO, 65 -514 RESOLUTION GRANTING CONSENT AND JURIS- DICTION TO THE COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES IN THE MATTER OF COUNTY LIGHTING MAINTEN- ANCE DISTRICT NO, 1395 PETITION NO. 71 -45 WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors of the County of Los Angeles is about to commence proceedings under Division 7 of the Streets and Highways Code, for the annexation of territory to County Lighting Maintenance District No. 1395; and WHEREAS, the proposed annexation will have street lights installed in the City of Temple City; and JHEREAS, all of the land included in the proposed annexatior: lies within the boundary of the City of Temple City, NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Temple City as follows: SECTION 1. That the public interest, convenience and necessity require the maintenance of a street lighting system located within said terri- tory as shown on the maps of the annexation to County Lighting Main- tenance District No. 1395 approved by the County Boundary Commission on the 28th of July 1965, and on file in the office of the Road Commission on the 28th of July, 1965, and on file in the office of the Road Commissioner, as set forth in the proposed Resolution of Intentio; of the Board of Supervisors of the County of Los Angeles for this an- nexation, a copy of which resolution, incomplete as to dates and sim- ilar information which can only be inserted at the time of adoption, is attached hereto and made a part hereof. SECTION 2. That this City Council hereby consents to the annexation of said territory as described in said proposed Resolution of Intention, included within the boundaries of said annexation, and lying within the boundary of the City of Temple City. SECTION 3. That this City Council hereby finds and determines that the lands included within the boundary of the proposed annexation as set forth in said proposed Resolution of Intention, lying within the boun- dary of the City of Temple City, will be benefited by the said propos- ed annexation to the maintenance district, and hereby consents to the inclusion of said lands within the proposed annexation and to the assessment thereof. SECTION 4. That the consent of this City Council is hereby given to the commencement of the proceedings for said annexation to County Lighting Maintenance District No. 1395 by the Board of Supervisors of the Count., of Los Angeles, and to the exercise of exclusive jurisdiction of said Board of Supervisors over all proceedings necessary thereto for the purpose of consummating the same, all in accordance with the provision of Division 7 of the Streets and Highways Code. SECTION 5. That the Clerk of the City Council is hereby directed to cer tify and deliver two copies of this resolution to the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors of the County of Los Angeles. SECTION 6. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this resolu- tion by the City Council of the City of Temple City and shall cause the same to be posted in three (3) conspicuous places in the City of Temple City, and it shall thereupon take effect. 715 Resolution No 65 -514, page 2 I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was adopted by the City Council of the City of Temple City at its meeting held August 17, 1965, by the following vote: AYES: Councilmen- Dickason, Nunamaker, Tyrell, Harker NOES: Councilmen-None ABSENT: Councilmen- Merritt I hereby certify that the foregoing document is full, true, and correct copy of Resolution No. 65 -514 on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Temple City, California. 716
