RESOLUTION NO. 81-7 ADOPTED January 14, 1981
A RESOLUTION: ENDORSING THE LEESBURG MUNICIPAL AIRPORT AREA AS A
FUTURE SITE FOR INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT
WHEREAS, the Leesburg Airport Commission by resolution recommends
the Leesburg Municipal Airport area be developed for industrial
parks and other economic development uses; and
WHEREAS, the Loudoun County Industrial Development Advisory
Committee by resolution has endorsed the concept of developing
Leesburg Municipal Airport to its full economic potential as a
"major employment center and source of tax revenue"; and
WHEREAS, Loudoun County is currently engaged in the development
of a comprehensive management plan for the Leesburg area~
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg,
Virginia, as follows:
SECTION I. The Leesburg area management plan now in preparation
should incorporate recommendations for appropriate zoning, utilities,
transportation and other planning elements to enhance development
of Leesburg Municipal Airport as a major Loudoun County economic and
employment center.
