HomeMy Public PortalAbout2006-005 (01-17-06)RESOLUTION NO. ~nn~ nn~ A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD ACCEPTING THE TRANSFER OF MAINTENANCE AND SERVICING FUNDS FROM THE SAFE NEIGHBORHOOD PARKS PROPOSITIONS OF 1992 AND 1996 (PROPOSITION A) ALLOCATED TO THE CITY OF VERNON FOR THE MAINTENANCE AND SERVICING OF PROPOSITION A FUNDED PROJECTS IN THE CITY OF LYNWOOD WHEREAS, on November 3, 1992 and on November 5, 1996, the citizens ('` of the County of Los Angeles enacted Proposition A, the Safe Neighborhood Parks Propositions (Propositions), to provide funds to the County of Los Angeles ` and other local governmental entities within the County of Los Angeles, including Maintenance and Servicing Funds, for the purpose of developing facilities for public recreation and open space purposes; and WHEREAS, on November 16, 2005, the City Council of the City of Vernon adopted Resolution No. 8888 which authorized the transfer of $10,000 of Proposition A Maintenance and Servicing funds to the City of Lynwood for the maintenance and servicing of Proposition A funded projects in the City of Lynwood; NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Lynwood does hereby find, determine, order and resolve as follows: Section 1. The City Council of the City of Lynwood hereby requests approval by the Los Angeles County Regional Park and Open Space District of the transfer of maintenance and servicing funds in the amount of $10,000 from the City of Vernon for the maintenance and servicing of Propositidn A funded projects in the City of Lynwood; and Section 2. The City Council of the City of Lynwood hereby certifies that l i the City of Lynwood will be the applicant for the funds and will be able to apply for and spend these funds only in accordance with the provisions of the Los t Angeles County Regional Park and Open Space District Maintenance and Servicing Policy; and Section 3. The City Council of the City of Lynwood hereby appoints the City Manager of the City of Lynwood, or designee, to act as the City's agent to execute and submit all documents that are necessary. Section 4. This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption. PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 17w day of January 2006.
