A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
EXTENDING THE CONTRACT BETWEEN THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
AND GUERRA PROFESSIONAL SERVICES (GPS) FOR THE
PREPARATION, PUBLICATION, AND DISTRIBUTION OF THE CITY
NEWSLETTER THROUGH JUNE 30, 2006
WHEREAS, since March 2005 Guerra Professional Services (GPS) has
produced a monthly newsletter to keep Lynwood residents informed of
community news, city services and programs; and
WHEREAS, the newsletter is distributed to approximately 15,000
households and encompasses 12 full color tabloid pages in both English and
Spanish; and
WHEREAS, the contract rate for the preparation, publication, and
distribution of the newsletter is $12,000 per month; and
WHEREAS, the existing agreement between the City of Lynwood and
Guerra Professional Services expires on February 28, 2006; and
WHEREAS, after the appointment of the Marketing and Grants Manager a
comprehensive marketing plan will be created to establish the City's current and
future contractual media services.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AND DETERMINE AS FOLLOWS:
(~i Section 1. The City Council authorizes the Mayor to execute the contract
JI extension, approved to form by the City Attorney, between the City of Lynwood
- and Guerra Professional Services through June 30, 2006.
Section 2. The City Council authorizes the payment of twenty four
thousand dollars to GPS to carry out the extension of the newsletter services.
Section 3:' This resolution. shell Become effective immediately upon its
adoption.
