A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
r CITY OF LYNWOOD AUTHORIZING THE AWARD
OF CONTRACT TO CONTRAST
ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES IN THE AMOUNT
NOT TO EXCEED $33,600 FOR THE ASBESTOS
SURVEY FROM ACCOUNT NUMBER 05-5295-
4220 (HAM PARK) TO PERFORM THE
ASBESTOS SURVEY OF ALL THE BUILDINGS IN
THE HAM PARK REPLACEMENT PROJECT
AREA, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO
EXECUTE THE AGREEMENT".
WHEREAS, the City of Lynwood relinquished the former Ham Park to the
Lynwood Unified School District for a high school; and
.WHEREAS, State Law requires local government to replace a park with the
same size, in the same area and with like or similar amenities; and
WHEREAS, the City of Lynwood entered into athree-party agreement with Los
Angeles County and the State of California for development of a replacement park; and
WHEREAS, after the City acquires properties and relocates tenants, and prior to
demolition, the remaining structures must be inspected, tested and if necessary
asbestos materials safely removed pursuant to State Law; and
WHEREAS, Contrast Environmental Services met all the requirements
requested on the City of Lynwood's Request for Proposal; and
WHEREAS, Contrast Environmental Services have State Licenses to perform
the removal of the of the asbestos and the demolition of the buildings survey; and
WHEREAS, Contrast Environmental Services have all the required state bonds
and insurance to perform the asbestos abatement and demolition survey; and
WHEREAS, Contrast Environmental Services has worked in other municipalities
conducting similar type of work.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council of the City of Lynwood authorizes the Mayor to
execute a contract between the City of Lynwood and Contrast Environmental Services
r- to perform the asbestos survey of all the properties in the Ham Park Replacement
Project area acquired by the Gity.
Section 2. The City Council of the City of Lynwood authorizes funding in the
amount of `?33,600 from the Ham Park Replacement Project Account Number
05-5295-4220.
