APRIL 21, 1952
The Council of Bal Harbour Village met at the Administration
Building, Monday, April 21, 1952 at 8:00 o'clock P. M.
There were present: Messrs. Beatty, Brown, Simons, Stckely
and Dr. Leonard.
Also present were W. H. Webb, Village Manager; Mary Wetterer,
Village Clerk; and Fred Baisder., Village Attorney.
The minutes of the ,revious meeting of March 31, 1952 were
read and approved.
Mr. Webb said in reference to the letter from Golden Beach, he
had received a notice of a meeting regarding the oil slick on the
beaches to be held at Fort Lauderdale, but that he w%ci unable to attend.
He said that he had learned that Mr. Smith of Surfside was going to have
the oil analized by the F. b. I. to see just what company was at fault.
Mr. Webb read to the council a letter from the Town of North Miami
asking that we send a resolution to the school board if the town was in
favor of a High Sch.ol at 135th St. It was decided to table this until
after the local elections.
The Gperating Statement for the Vi]lage's first six months opera-
tion was considered and on motion of Mr. Brown, seconded by Dr. Leonard.,
the statement was unanimously approved.
Mr. Weeb said that he had blueprints submitted by Miami beach
Heights, inc. for the: resubdivision of Tract "F" and the last lots in
Block 12, and that the development corporation had requested tentative
approval before they had the actual record plat i epared. After dis-
cussion it was moved by Mr. Brown, seconded Ly Mi. Beatty, and unanimously
voted that the resubdivision, of Lot 21. Block 1.2 and Tract "F" be approved
and that Miami beach Heights, Inc. give the Village a letter guaranteeing
the completion of all physical improvements including landscaping in .lieu
of a completion bond.
The council then discussed the site for the municipal building
and Mr. Webb said he thought it might be a .:fse idea to lease so:.ie land
from the Bal Harbour Club and build the Village Hall on the Beach Club
Site. Mr. Brown and Mr. :Simons said that they definitely would be against
this idea and the next time Mr. Graham careā¢ down to hold a meeting and
settle on a definite site.
On motion of Yr. Brown, seconded by Mr. Simons, i .: meeting
adjourned.
