A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD AUTHORIZING THE
MAYOR TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH THE MS. SENIOR
AMERICA OF CALIFORNIA ORGANIZATION
WHEREAS, the City of Lynwood ("CITY") wishes to host a Ms. Senior
California Preliminary Pageant (PAGEANT) in the City of Lynwood; and
and
WHEREAS, PAGEANT also wishes to provide such services to the CITY;
WHEREAS, at its meeting on April 4, 2006 the CITY decided to host said
PAGEANT; and
WHEREAS, appropriation of revenues and expenditures is required; and
WHEREAS, the city authorizes the assessment of an admission fee for
entrants into the pageant and for the general public to see the event in order to
cover the costs associated with the hosting of the event.
WHEREAS, the City agrees to provide Bateman Hall Community Center
Auditorium, room #1 and room #2 for the hosting'of a Ms. Senior Lynwood
California Preliminary Pageant on a date in July 2006 to be mutually agreed upon
between the Pageant and the City; and
WHEREAS, the City agrees to furnish audio/sound equipment and an
operator; and
WHEREAS, the City agrees to furnish lunches for contestants and the
pageant coordinators for two (2) days including the rehearsal date and the
pageant date; and
~I WHEREAS, the Pageant agrees to and shall indemnify, defend and hold
harmless the City, its agents, officers, elected and appointed officials,
employees, and volunteers against any legal proceeding in law or equity, and
further shall indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the City of Lynwood and its
agents, officers, elected and appointed officials, employees, and volunteers from
and against any and all claims, liabilities, demands, suits, judgments, expenses,
costs, and other legal expenses of every kind to which the City may be subject by
reason of any act or omission, whether intentional or negligent, or from strict
liability, arising from the conduct of any participant, invitee, attendee, sponsor or
any third person who is or is not an invitee, attendee, participant, or sponsor of
the event.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY RESOLVE AND DETERMINE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the City Council authorizes the Mayor to execute the attached
agreement entitled "MS. SENIOR CALIFORNIA PRELIMINARY PAGEANT
AGREEMENT"
SECTION 2. That the City approve expenditures to carry out the terms of the
attached AGREEMENT.

Revenue for deposit is estimated at $8,125 to be input into City Special Events:
01- 30618
Expenditures are estimated at $10,645 to be taken from Senior Services:
01-4779-4220
SECTION 3. That this resolution takes effect immediately upon its adoption.
