A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LYNWOOD APPROVING AONE-MONTH CONTRACT
EXTENSION TO THE STREET SWEEPING CONTRACT
WITH NATIONWIDE ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES AND
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE THE
CONTRACT AMENDMENT
WHEREAS, the Street Sweeping Contract with Nationwide
Environmental Services (NES) was due to expire on December 31, 2005; and
WHEREAS, on November 15, 2005, the City Council approved a
four-month contract extension to April 30, 2006, for staff to complete a street
sweeping study and to negotiate a new contract with NES; and
WHEREAS, the study is complete and the contract negotiations
have started and are ongoing; and
WHEREAS, staff is anticipating that the negotiations will not be
completed until early May of this year; and therefore another temporary contract
extension is necessary.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Lynwood does
hereby find, proclaim, order and resolve as follows:
Section 1: That the City Council approves a temporary one-month
contract extension to May 31, 2006 for the Street Sweeping Contract with
Nationwide Environmental Services at the current compensation schedule of
$23,456.25 per month.
