RESOLUTION NO. 81-74 ADOPTED June 10, 1981
A RESOLUTION: AUTHORIZING IMPROVEMENTS TO THE INTERSECTION OF MARKET STREET,
CHURCH STREET AND EDWARDS FERRY ROAD
WHEREAS, the Virginia Department of Highways and Transportation, at
the request of the Town, prepared a traffic study to determine if the safety
characteristics of the intersection of Market Street, Church Street and
Edwards Ferry Road could be improved; and
WHEREAS, those recommendations, dated May 20, 1981, have been re-
ceived and call for the removal of the intersection control beacons, addi-
tion of signs and new pavement markings;
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia
as follows:
The manager is directed to implement the improvements outlined in the
May 20, 1981 traffic study provided by the Virginia Department of Highways
and Transportation, except that consideration should be given to reduce the
size of the "Special 30" x 30" sign called for on the south side of Market
Street to the east of the intersection.
