Heavy Traffic Expected During Black Friday Shopping
Shoppers should expect heavy traffic congestion in and around the Leesburg
Corner Premium Outlets beginning Thursday, November 28, 2019.
Leesburg, VA (November 22, 2019) – The Leesburg Corner Premium Outlets (241 Fort Evans
Road NE) will open at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 28, and will remain open until 10:00
p.m. on Friday, November 29, for the mall’s annual "Black Friday Shopping Event.”
Vehicular and pedestrian traffic is expected to be heavily congested in the area of the outlet
mall as well as other local shopping centers through the weekend. Leesburg Police Department
officers will be assigned to various locations throughout town impacted by the Black Friday
shopping events. Drivers should expect traffic delays and follow police direction.
During times of peak congestion, Leesburg Police Department officers may direct motorists
onto less congested secondary routes to ease traffic movement. Electronic signboards have
been placed on Fort Evans Road and Potomac Station Drive to guide motorists not headed to
the outlet mall to Route 7, Route 15 and the Dulles Greenway via Battlefield Parkway and River
Creek Parkway.
During this heavily-attended shopping weekend, drivers are advised to:
Remain alert and cautious
Watch for pedestrians
Follow police direction
Remain calm and courteous while driving and parking
Holiday shoppers are reminded to lock their vehicles, take valuables with them, and hide any
valuables being left in the car to avoid theft. Shoppers are encouraged to be vigilant and
immediately call police to report any suspicious activity. Remember, “if you see something, say
something.”
