A motion was made for the approval of the minutes from the August 20, 2015 meeting by Tim
Theroff, Sherri Cook seconded. Minutes were approved
Old Business:
David Grellner gave the cemetery maintenance update. A flag and flag pole light has been
installed at Woodland Cemetery, trees have been trimmed by Parks and Recreation
Department, and staff is working with Public Works Department to help with erosion control in
the lower section of the cemetery. The subject of the large silver maple tree that is dying was
discussed. The tree needs to come out because of its condition and the possible damage it
could cause to the grave stones located below it. The Cemetery Board agreed this was a
priority to remove this tree.

markers. Mark explained the procedures. Nancy also stated that someone at Lincoln University
was interested in looking for founders of Lincoln University that may be buried in Old
City/Woodland Cemetery. Also discussion occurred about funding from Ameren UE to possibly
help with installing names on the Gone But Not Forgotten Monument. The planting of flowers in
established beds in Old City/Woodland Cemetery was also discussed between members.
Nancy asked about any new board members that may be available. Tim Theroff stated he may
have a possible candidate for the position. Nancy explained the procedures on how to apply.
Mark Schreiber mentioned it would be a good idea to invite Mayor Tergin to take a tour of the
