Portion of South King Street to Close for Public Art Unveiling
Motorists should expect delays and use alternate routes between 9:30 and
11:00 a.m.
Leesburg, VA (July 8, 2019) – South King Street, from Market to Loudoun streets, will be closed
to traffic on Saturday, July 13, 2019 from approximately 9:30 to 11:00 a.m.
A dedication ceremony will take place in front of 11 S King Street to celebrate the life of Stanley
Field Caulkins, the dean of Loudoun’s business community, World War II airman, and longtime
civic leader, who passed Friday, January 12, 2018 at 92.
The event will officially kick off at 10 a.m. when the Leesburg Commission on Public Art will
unveil a sculpture of the late Caulkins. Motorists should expect delays and use alternate routes
until the road has been reopened to the public.
