Virginia PTAC Statewide Director to Be Featured at Quarterly
HUBZone Meeting on July 22, 2019
Small businesses interested in HUBZone certification and PTAC programs are
invited to attend this free informational meeting.
Leesburg, VA (July 15, 2019) – The Mason Enterprise Center, 202 Church Street, in Leesburg, will
hold the next Quarterly HUBZone “Contractor Chat” on Monday, July 22 from 11:30 a.m. to 1
p.m. The meeting is free to attend and open to all small businesses interested in federal
contracting. A sponsored lunch will be provided at no cost.
This quarter’s guest speaker will be Lisa Wood, Virginia PTAC Statewide Director. Wood will
answer questions about the HUBZone certification and help you understand how to use it to
your advantage in winning contracts. She will also share how the PTAC programs can help you
in all aspects of your government contracting business.
Wood has an extensive background in the government contracting arena. She previously served
in leadership roles with both the Connecticut and Ohio PTAC programs. Wood also has
experience in procurement giving her a well-rounded perspective in advising PTAC clients and
conducting training events.
A program of the U.S. Small Business Administration, the HUBZone program helps small
businesses gain preferential access to federal procurement opportunities while increasing
employment opportunities in economically distressed areas. In an effort to assist local
businesses with navigating the HUBZone certification process, the Mason Enterprise Center and
Leesburg Economic Development Office have partnered with technical experts and local business
owners who have completed the process successfully to present quarterly information sharing
meetings.
