Interactive Map References Businesses and Sign Regulations in
Leesburg
Leesburg, VA (July 24, 2019) – A new interactive map, dedicated to comprehensive sign plans, is
now available on the Town of Leesburg website.
The Comprehensive Sign Map is the latest web tool launched by the Department of Planning &
Zoning to allow residents and businesses access to information during outside of normal
business hours.
It identifies all of the shopping centers and office buildings located within corporate limits while
providing detailed information on their respective Comprehensive Sign Plans (CSPs), if
applicable.
This interactive instrument not only informs of CSP-specific signage regulations, for any of the
commercial sites in question, but can also be used by the general public as a search tool to find
shopping centers and/or commercial buildings within Town limits.
Its objective is to help all parties involved accelerate the initial research and application
submission process by providing direct access to the approved CSP documents (where
applicable) for each of the respective commercial centers.
Additionally, a link to the Sign Permit Information page provides supplementary CSP and
general sign permit information, along with permitting requirements and procedures. This
allows office and commercial center ownership to achieve a level of unified signage compatible
with the architectural style of their development.
In general, businesses within the Town are limited to two signs per business. Regulations
regarding signs in the Town are outlined in Article 15 of the Leesburg Zoning Ordinance.
Other online tools include the Leesburg Interactive Applications Map (LIAM), which provides up
to date information regarding active land use applications within the Town, and the Interactive
Zoning Map, which allows users to search by address to find zoning district and use
information.
