Lassiter Way Dedication Ceremony In Downtown Leesburg
Leesburg, VA (February 15, 2019) – Please join Mayor Kelly Burk and other Town of Leesburg
officials in honoring Mr. Nelson “Mutt” Lassiter in a ceremony marking the official naming of
the alley along the east side of the Town Hall Parking Garage as “Lassiter Way.”

Nelson “Mutt” Lassiter owned Robinson’s Barbershop, located at 4 Loudoun Street SW in
downtown Leesburg, for 50 years. Lassiter learned to cut hair while serving in the United States
Marine Corps. When he returned home to Leesburg, he worked for Mr. Robinson and later
purchased the barbershop from Robinson’s widow in 1968. Lassiter retired last year.
