Small Business Administration to Be Featured at Quarterly
HUBZone Meeting on February 11, 2019
Small businesses interested in HUBZone certification and regulations are invited
to attend this free informational meeting.
Leesburg, VA (February 5, 2019) – The Mason Enterprise Center, 202 Church Street, in Leesburg,
will hold the next Quarterly HUBZone “Contractor Chat” on Monday, February 11 from 11:30
a.m. to 1 p.m. The meeting is free to attend and open to all small businesses interested in
federal contracting. A free lunch, sponsored by Access National Bank, a division of Union Bank &
Trust of Richmond, Virginia, will be provided.
This quarter’s guest speaker will be Small Business Administraion (SBA) Business Opportunity
Specialist Brian Lederhouse. Among other duties, Lederhouse reviews HUBZone applications
and trains new reviewers at the SBA. Lederhouse is also involved in application interpretations
and seeing that new regulations are put into practice. He will share key aspects and answer
attendee questions regarding applications and compliance issues.
A program of the U.S. Small Business Administration, the HUBZone program helps small
businesses gain preferential access to federal procurement opportunities while increasing
employment opportunities in economically distressed areas. In an effort to assist local
businesses with navigating the HUBZone certification process, the Mason Enterprise Center and
Leesburg Economic Development Office have partnered with technical experts and local business
owners who have completed the process successfully to present quarterly information sharing
meetings.
