Leesburg, VA (February 19, 2019) – Friends of Leesburg Public Arts (FOLPA) invites all amateur, emerging, and established artists to donate small artworks to its annual $50 Friends 5x7 Art Works! art sale. The artworks can be of any medium and subject, but should be unframed and signed only on the back of each piece. Two-dimensional works should be no larger than 5 inches by 7 inches. Three-dimensional works should be no larger than 5 inches by 5 inches by 7 inches. Deadline for artists to register is April 15, 2019 for inclusion in promotional materials, and artworks must be delivered by May 2, 2019. Details and artist registration form are available on the FOLPA website at www.leesburgpublicarts.org, under the Events tab. Beginning on Saturday, May 4, the donated artworks will be on display at Tryst Gallery (312 East Market Street, Suite F). Each piece will be shown anonymously and will be available for purchase for $50. All proceeds from the sale will support public art initiatives within the Town of Leesburg. Tryst Gallery will host an opening reception for the art sale from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 4. The community is invited to view the donated art, meet the participating artists, and purchase their favorite pieces before they’re gone. Remaining artworks will be on display and for sale through June 8, 2019, during regular Tryst Gallery hours (www.trystgallery.com).
