Commission on Public Art Celebrates 10th Anniversary
and New Exhibit at Town Hall
The exhibit, which will feature watercolors by Elaine Nunnally, will be on
display from December 2019 to February 2020.
Leesburg, VA (December 3, 2019) – The
Commission on Public Art (COPA) will celebrate
its 10th anniversary of supporting the arts in
Leesburg with a ceremony immediately
following the Holiday Tree Lighting on Friday,
December 6, 2019. Mayor Kelly Burk will speak
at the ceremony.
The ceremony will include the launch of a new
exhibit of watercolor paintings by artist Elaine
Nunnally. “Journeys by Foot and by Car” will depict painted views of driving along
Leesburg highways and will include paintings from a recent journey to the Camino de
Santiago, in Spain. The exhibition will be on display at Town Hall through February 2020.
The event will take place in the Town Hall lobby (25 West Market Street) and will
feature hot apple cider, holiday cookies, and an interactive opportunity to share ideas
for public arts in Leesburg.
The Leesburg Commission on Public Art supports the development of the Town’s public
art program, serves as an advisory body for public art, advises the Town Council on
policies that will strengthen the arts, administers activities concerning public art that are
not a part of regularly scheduled Town programs, and seeks support on behalf of the
arts in Leesburg. To find out more, contact Chair Donna Torraca at
