Utilities Department to Perform Night Work at King and
Market Street Crosswalk
Work will be conducted between 2 and 6 a.m. on Friday, August 2, 2019.
Leesburg, VA (August 1, 2019) – The Utilities Department will be digging at the intersection of
King and Market streets on Friday, August 2, 2019 for an upcoming water line replacement. The
work will be performed between the hours of 2 and 6 a.m., due to the high volume of traffic
during the daytime and business hours.
Utility workers will be performing a test pit on material verification and depth of water
infrastructure for an upcoming Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) project. As a result, a portion of
King Street, in the area of the crosswalk, will be closed during this time. Northbound traffic will
be flagged while southbound traffic will be maintained by signage and traffic cones.
