A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CONTRACTOR FOR THE TREE AND HOUSE REMOVAL
FOR 251 & 301 W MARENGO RD FOR THE IRELAND AVENUE EXTENSION PROJECT
WHEREAS: the Engineer has found it necessary to remove houses, trees, bushes and brush from city
owned lots in order to continue with the Ireland Avenue Extension Project and has requested the City to clear
the properties of trees and structures.
WHEREAS: the City Council has reviewed the proposals submitted by contractors for the removal of the
designated trees and two houses on city owned lots at 251 and 301 W. Marengo Rd for clearance for the
Ireland Avenue Extension Project.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of Tiffin, Iowa, that the City Council approves
the proposal submitted by Contractor: Neuzil & Sons Inc. for the amount of $23,909.00 as the lowest most
responsible responsive contractor for the removal of houses, trees, bushes and brush; and also includes the
fill dirt and compaction of the soil in preparation of the grading for the Ireland Avenue Extension Project as
indicated and detailed on the bid proposal forms. Contractor will begin work as soon as possible per the
specifications as indicated in the proposal documentation and contract.
THERFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of Tiffin, Iowa that the City Council approves to use
TIF Funds for this Project as the project is located in an Urban Renewal Area.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, BY the City Council of Tiffin, Iowa to authorize the Mayor and'City Clerk to
sign all necessary notices, documents, and forms of contract, as required and necessary to execute such
contract.
On this 14th day of September 2011, at the special meeting of Tiffin City Council, Tiffin, Iowa, Council person
Mike Gericke introduced Resolution 2011-33 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CONTRACTOR FOR
THE TREE AND HOUSE REMOVAL FOR THE IRELAND AVENUE EXTENSION PROJECT and made a
motion for approval. The motion was seconded by Council person Travis Weipert.
AYES: Chris Ball, Mike Gericke, Mark Petersen, Travis Weipert
NAYS: None
ABSENT: Jim Bartels
WHEREUPON., Four votes by City Council approved Resolution 2011-33, Mayor Phillips declared that
Resolution 2011-33 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CONTRACTOR FOR THE TREE AND HOUSE
REMOVAL FOR THE IRELAND AVENUE EXTENSION PROJECT be adopted and signified his -approval of
the same by affixing his signature thereto.
PASSED, AND APPROVED THIS 14th DAY OF September 2011.
