HomeMy Public PortalAbout058-1983 - Amending Chapter 154 - Zoning - 2000 Block of New Paris PkGENERAL ORDINANCE NO. 58-1983 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 154 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE, BEING ORDINANCE NO. 2325- 1968, COMMONLY KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, PROVIDING FOR THE REZONING OF PROPERTY LOCATED IN THE 2000 BLOCK OF NEW PARIS PIKE FROM 0-1 GREENBELT DISTRICT TO C-4 GENERAL. BUSINESS DISTRICT. WHEREAS, the Zoning Map which is a part of Ordinance No. 2325-1968 designates and describes as 0-1 Greenbelt District the property located in the 2000 block of New Paris Pike; and, WHEREAS, it is the intent and purpose hereof to change the zoning classification of said property from 0-1 Greenbelt District to C-4 General Business District; and, WHEREAS, a study of this Ordinance was conducted by the Richmond City Plan Com- mission the 27th day of September, 1983, at which time remonstrances were heard from all parties interested in or affected by this Ordinance; and, WHEREAS, the vote of the Richmond City Plan Commission was nine (9) to zero (0) in favor of recommending the passage of Ordinance No. 58-1983. NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, as follows: SECTION 1. That the zoning classification of the property described below be, and the same is hereby changed to C-4 General Business District and that said property be regulated in accordance with the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Richmond, Indiana, and all amendments thereto. Beginning at a point at the intersection of the east boundary line of tract number 449 of the official map of the City of Richmond, Indiana, and the south right-of-way line of New Paris Pike; thence eastwardly along the south right-of-way line of New Paris Pike to the west pro- perty line of lot number 225 in the Morton Lake and Park addition to the City of Richmond, Indiana; thence southwardly, along the west line of said lot number 225, to the southwest corner of said lot number 225; thence westwardly, parallel with the south right-of-way line of New Paris Pike to a point on the south boundary line of tract number 449 of the official map of the City of Richmond, Indiana; thence northeast- wardly along the south boundary line of said tract number 449 to the east boundary line of said tract number 449; thence norhtwardly along the east boundary line of said tract number 449 to the point of begin- ning. SECTION 2. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval as by law required. Dickman, Mayor of the City of Richmond, Indiana, this /i day of ���� �'. !'_.� 1983 , ATTEST: Cit Clerk ' CITY PLAN COMMISSION RICHMOND, INDIANA 1,450, November 1, 1983 Mr. Kenneth Mills, President Members of Common Council and Mrs. JoEllen Trimble, City Clerk Municipal Building Richmond, Indiana 47374 Re: Ordinance No. 58-1983 Plan Commission Case PC-83-16 Dear Mrs. Mills, Members of Common Council and Mrs. Trimble: The Richmond City Plan Commission conducted a public hearing on Tuesday, September 27, 1983, on the petition of the Richmond Board of Public Works and Safety, requesting to rezone from 0-1 Greenbelt District to C-4 General Business District the property located in the 2000 block of New Paris Pike. Seven (7) notices of public hearing were sent to surrounding property owners with none returned. The property requested to be rezoned is a part of a larger parcel proposed to be sold to Lloyd Hamm & Sons Excavating, Inc. Hamm & Sons, Inc. has agreed to pruchase the sub- ject property contingent upon a portion of it being rezoned to permit the continued use of the property for storage of excavating and construction equipment.
