Re: Ordinance No. 60-1983
Plan Commission Case PC-83-18
Dear Mr. Mills, Members of Common Council and Mrs. Trimble:
The Richmond City Plan Commission conducted a public hearing on Tuesday, October 25,
1983, on the petition of Claude T. Cason, Sr. and Claude T. Cason, Jr., Owners; Gregg
M. O'Maley, Agent, requesting to rezone from C-4 General Business District to M-2
General Industrial District two (2) parcels generally located at 4815 Woodside Drive.
Eight (8) notices of public hearing were sent to surrounding property owners with one
(1) returned in opposition to the request.
During the public hearing, the Plan Commission determined the following:
1. The use of the property has historically been industrial.
2. One of the subject parcels is contiguous to an existing M-2 Zoning
District so the rezoning request represents a logical extension of an
existing district.
3. The rezoning of the property to M-2 would be compatible with existing
zoning and land use of the general area.
4. The rezoning would not adversely affect adjoining property.
The Plan Commission voted ten (10) to zero (0) to recommend the passage of Ordinance
No. 60-1983.
