A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF TEMPLE CITY INSTITUTING PROCEEDINGS AND
GIVING NOTICE OF THE PROPOSED ANNEXATION OF
CERTAIN CONTIGUOUS TERRITORY DESIGNATED AS
ANNEXATION NO. 9.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY DOES RESOLVE:
SECTION 1. That pursuant to the "Annexation of Uninhabited
Territory Act of 1939", as amended, the City Council of the City of
Temple City, on its own motion, does hereby initiate proceedings for
the annexation to the City of Temple City of certain uninhabited
territory contiguous and adjacent to the City limits of the City of
Temple City and more particularly described in Section 4 hereof.
That the owners of all of the land in said territory have filed
their written petition and consent to such annexation with the
legislative body of the City of Temple City.
SECTION 2. That the City Council of the City of Temple City
desires to annex such uninhabited territory to the City of Temple
City for the following reasons: The territory is contiguous to the
City of Temple City; and that the annexation will fulfill the
written request of all of the owners of all property within said
territory and will permit completion of a planned commercial develop-
ment entirely under one jurisdiction.
SECTION 3. That the proposal for the annexation of said terri-
tory to the City of Temple City has been approved by the Local
Agency Formation Commission of the County of Los Angeles pursuant
to Section 54775 et seq. of the California Government Code and has
been favorably reported upon to the proponents by the Boundary
Commission of the County of Los Angeles as required by Section
35002 of said Government Code.
SECTION 4. That the City Council of the City of Temple City
does hereby give notice of said proposed annexation pursuant to the
"Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939", as amended;
that said territory; is hereby designated as Annexation No. 9, and
is particularly described and bounded as follows:

That parcel of land in the County of Los Angeles, State of Calif-
ornia included within the following described boundary:
Beginning at the intersection of the easterly prolongation of
the southerly line of Emperor Avenue (60 feet wide) as shown on
Map of Tract No. 15813 recorded in Book 413, pages 3 and 4 of
Maps in the office of the County Recorder of said County with the
southerly prolongation of the westerly line of Rosemead Boulevard
(100 feet wide) as shown on said map, said intersection being a
point in the westerly boundary of the City of Temple City as the
same existed on July 1, 1965; thence northerly along said boundary
to the easterly prolongation of the southerly line of Lot 7, said
tract, said southerly line having a bearing of N 75° 14' 04" E
and a length of 84.97 feet and also being in the northerly line
of Callita Street as shown on said map; thence westerly along said
last mentioned prolongation and said northerly line of Callita
Street to the northerly prolongation of the westerly line of Lot
8, said tract; thence southerly in a direct line to the southwester-
ly corner of said Lot 8; thence westerly along the southerly line
of Lots 9 and 10 of said tract to the westerly line of Lot 59,
Sunny Slope Vineyard Subdivision No. 1 as shown on map recorded in
Book 10, page 112 of said Maps; thence southerly along said last
mentioned westerly line and its southerly prolongation to said
southerly line of Emperor Avenue; thence easterly in a direct line
to the point of beginning.

SECTION 5. That the City Council of the City of Temple
City hereby gives notice and fixes October 19, 1965, at 7:30
o'clock p.m., in the Council Chambers of the Temple City City
Hall, 5938 North Kauffman, Temple City, California, as the day,
hour and place when and where the City Council of the City of
Temple City will hear protests from any owner of property within
the City who does not also own property in the territory to be
annexed.
SECTION 6. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this Resolution and shall cause a copy hereof to be published
at least once in the Temple City Times at least four days before
the date of said hearing.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 5th day of October ,
1965.

regular meeting held on the 5th day of October
1965, by the following vote of the Council:
