We reviewed the most recent draft of the Strategic Plan document A) Districting 1) Marilyn will do her best on the narrative for districting (a) However, she is not proficient at using a word processor (b) Anne will get her hand written draft typed (c) Good material to draw from is the literature already in our hands from the Idaho Library Association 2) Question - is the Rock Flat area in the New Meadows library district (it is in Adams County)? (a) If it is, then should not be in our proposed district. (b) Marilyn will get a map of MfD district from superintendent's office 3) Should Marge be urged to come to the City Council meeting? (a) First thought wase'no'', (b) However, at Ed I-/ershgold's urging, group agreed that Anne will try to get her to agree to be at that meeting. Automation 1) The narrative for the automation plan will be supplied by Robyn "soon". 2) Her outline is good. 3) (We see by notice in the Star News that the plan is already rolling) Building/remodeling 1) Ed Hershgold is in the process of writing 2) Anne will help him get it into MS Word format, and e-mail to Cut by the weekend Media - Cut will talk to Susan about doing that narrative Deadlines as shown in draft plan where changed to more conservative estimates Committees 1) Districting committee (a) where to get a stemwinder (maybe Roberta??) (i) Anne will urge her to come to the City Council meeting B) C) D) F) (ii) Might be that the remodel/building committee will be on hold, and she could do it. (b) Need people from Donnelly (c) Put off until after March 20th, but let's think about it in the meantime 2) Building/remodeling (a) Will need to be reconstituted (b) Smaller, leaner, closed 3) "Adjunct" board (a) no need to be in City Limits (b) will be under direction of board chair (c) begin to mull possibilities III) Power Point A) Anne showed what a power point presentation might look like (and it's impressive) B) Agreed to hold further work until the plan itself is completed C) Agreed that narratives should not be in the Power Point presentation, only outline and bullet points. ~ W) Vision statement - ~ A) Cut asked that all come with some thoughts as to what would be included in a vision statement - what success would look like. B) Library Association's "preferred future" is a little long and flowery, but has a tone we may want to emulate. V) Recap A) The general plan is to get the narratives into Cut's hands, he will paste them into the plan B) Then Susan and perhaps others will proof it, smooth it over, giving it unity, coherence, and emphasis. C) Then Anne and perhaps others will develop a Power Point presentation based on that material. D) A copy of the written plan will be given to the City Council and relevant others (e.g., Strope) one week before the March 20th meeting. E) Then we celebrate briefly, and then... F) Figure out how to "work the plan".
