2/20/03
I) Library announcements (not complete)
A) No responses (yet) to advertisement for persons interested in being
on the board
B) Must run two weeks before we can go ahead without further posting
C) Have two positions to fill.
D) Cut made a suggestion for possible board person - Bill Eldredge.
II)PIT
A) Any personal matters that we should be aware of ?
1) Yes - my travel schedule.
(a) Out of town 2/25 afternoon to 3/2 evening.
(b) Out of town again 3/12 noon to 3/19 evening or maybe 3/20
noon
2) Sue will be in town later this week
B) Any interpersonal areas we should be aware of.
1) Yes - thanks to those who have been doing the writing
2) Yes - thanks to those who will be doing even more writing!
C) Task issues
1) How do you feel about the way I have structured the work?
(apparently it is fine)
2) Problems with clarity or time (yes, assignments for Suzie have not
been clear).
III) Review the draft of the written plan
A) Improve on drafts of narratives? Susie says she will edit
B) How to mend together more seamlessly? Susie says she will give it
format unity
C) How to xfer to power point? After we have the completed document,
will use power point for highlights.
CO Cut- utllt eet with Anne tenet tints cif a section on library
statistics
E) Suzie will take Marilyn's good first draft of districting and work
towards making it less dry, perhaps making 2nd paragraph the lead
paragraph. Suzie will also try to put in "headers" as Ed Hershgold did
in his building/remodel draft.
F) Marilyn will write up the plans for establishing a districting committee
G) Cut will take a pass on improving on Hershgold's already good draft of
building/remodeling.

1) Agreed that the first job of this committee is a political one - to
persuade the City Council to agree that the fire station and
adjoining space will be saved for the library (and, as Hershberger
would be sure we say, "with or without districting").
I) Robyn will improve on her draft of "automation" activity, and put in
headers similar to Harshgold's
J) Suzie's write up on public relations, brief and to the point, was agreed
to be good, and useable that way. She will e-mail it to Cutler.
K) Vision statement -
1) Use of "preferred future" or not? (Consensus that the Star News
Press Release is clever and useful)
2) What verb tense? (Present tense as with any press release)
3) Emphasize what points
(a) Become a focus in the community
(b) Service
(c) More as found in other two vision statement suggestions, and
what they think of
4) Caution - make sure everything in the vision statement is, in fact,
attainable.

2) Ed Hershgold suggested we use it as first page after title page.
Cut thought this might work well.
M) P nne will prepare a brief statement an_i lirs `
IV) Other topics
A) Do we have Marge come to City Council meeting or not?
1) Depends on extent we will be questioned at that meeting
2) Anne will find out what Strope thinks
3) She will also talk to Marge and see what she thinkgs
B) Cooperation with Cascade
1) Including Cascade in the vote for districting could make the job
much tougher, Marge's and Alice's wishes notwithstanding.
2) Still, having one meting to indicate that that is the case may well
be worthwhile if we want to remain on friendly terms (always a
good idea). Anne dnd Marge need to be aware of the difficulty in
getting Cascade voters to support something that smacks of giving
McCall the lead role in anything.
3) Again, Anne will test the waters and let us know.
C) Exact date of late March City Council meeting - 3/20 or 2/27.
1) The extra week would be good, but we should not stretch out our
schedule even if we have it.
2) Anne will find out, and let us know by e-mail tomorrow (Friday,
2/21).
D) It is our plan to have some number (20??) of the final plan bound and
covered, and handed to City Council plus Strope by one week before
the City Council Meeting.
V) Next meeting
A) What to do between now and Tuesday when I leave
1) E-mail new info and revisions to Cut
2) Cut will put all into a completed draft, out on Sunday
3) All will review in detail for the next meeting, including sending Cut
revision suggestions between now and then.
B) Meeting schedule
1) 4:00 PM, Allen Nokes, Wednesday, March 5.
2) Pot Luck celebratory get together, April 4th
