McDonald’s Re-Opens East Market Street Restaurant
with New Contemporary Design
Ribbon cutting ceremony scheduled for Saturday, November 27, 2010
Leesburg, VA (November 23, 2010) – The McDonald’s at 335 East Market Street has reopened,
following a complete tear-down and rebuild of the restaurant. Leesburg Mayor Kristen
Umstattd will officiate a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the reopening at 12:00 p.m. on
Saturday, November 27, 2010.
The East Market Street location is one of the first restaurants in the nation to feature
McDonald’s new contemporary design. The new look reflects McDonald’s building design
across the U.S. The interior is designed to be contemporary, comfortable and provides seating
zones to fit customers’ needs. Natural finishes can be found in the lobby and on the exterior of
the building. To enhance the customers experience, flat screen TV’s have been added along
with free Wi-Fi service for customer convenience. The addition of a double drive-thru lane will
help deliver fast, accurate and friendly service to Leesburg residents who are on the go.
“The new design of this McDonald’s will allow us to connect with our customers with a new
contemporary look that relates to current trends,” said Dee Carpenter, Operations Manager for
McDonald’s. “Our goal is to become our customer’s favorite place and way to eat.”
“We will be celebrating our Grand Re-Opening Ribbon Cutting on November 27, 2010 from
11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.,” she continued. “Hamburglar himself will be at the restaurant to take
pictures with all the kids (and grab a hamburger or two or three or four……..). The public is
invited to stop in and meet the Hamburglar and the entire McDonald’s Team between 1:00 and
3:00 p.m.”
“Having McDonalds back in operation so quickly, with their newest design, demonstrates their
sincere commitment to the Leesburg community,” commented Marantha Edwards, Leesburg’s
Economic Development Manager. “It has been a pleasure working with their entire team, and
appreciate their reinvestment in the Town.”
