RESOLUTION NO. 82-14 ADOPTED February 10, 1982
A RESOLUTION: ADOPTING THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT OBJECTIVES AND MAKING AN
APPROPRIATION TO ACCOUNT 1203-300
WHEREAS, economic development is a principal objective of the Town of
Leesburg, and
WHEREAS, economic development can contribute to an increase in the town's
tax base and create new job opportunities for the town's residents, and
WHEREAS, increased economic development will allow the town to continue pro-
viding high quality municipal services without excessive increases in taxes or
service charges;
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as
follows:
SECTION I. Objectives for economic development are adopted as follows:
· Immediate creation of an economic development advisory committee,
·Promotion of economic development in Leesburg including development of
a community data profile and advertising campaign in fiscal year 1983,
· Expansion of support for the county's tourism program in fiscal year
1983,
· Preparation of a design plan for the Route 7 corridor entering Leesburg
in fiscal year 1983, and
· Examination of the town's land development regulations and permitting
processes by the town staff to determine how they affect development
costs with a report and recommendations to the Council by October 1, 1982.

SECTION II. A $1500.00 appropriation is made to Account No. 1203-300,
Community Development Contractural Services for FY 1982.
