Leesburg Announces “Freeze Your Gizzard” Race Results
8th Annual 5K Cross Country Race and 1-Mile Fun Run Held on Saturday,
November 20, 2010
Leesburg, VA (November 24, 2010) – The Town of Leesburg Parks and Recreation Department,
in partnership with Loudoun Interfaith Relief, hosted the 8th Annual Freeze Your Gizzard Cross
Country 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run on Saturday, November 20, 2010. More than 1,000 runners and
walkers came out and ‘froze their gizzard’ at Ida Lee Park.
Runners were asked to bring 2 canned food items to be donated to Loudoun Interfaith Relief’s
food bank and a record 2,106 pounds of food were donated at this year’s race. For more
